It is with great honor that I present you the website of Alpha Sigma Tau’s Delta Phi chapter at New York University. If you’ve wondered what it’s like to be a member of AST, our website is a great way to get to know us and our values. We are a sorority that is uniquely based in the largest, busiest city in our country and we couldn’t be more proud of it. Our creed states that as members of Alpha Sigma Tau, we ‘believe in the permanence and loveliness of its ideals’. Our chapter is comprised of diverse, intelligent women that showcase our values and will continue to utilize them for life.
‘We believe in the values of friendship and fidelity to purpose’ and each of our members is given the power to uplift one another and respect each other’s interests, backgrounds and goals. We have girls pursuing careers from nursing to studio artistry. We have girls who have various hobbies like equestrian, improv comedy and volunteering in local hospitals. We hold internships at companies like NBC Universal, Langone, Universal Music, Disney, Marchesa and the U.S. Senate.
We’re always inclusive and attend retreats, brunches, shows and Panhellenic events together while have a genuinely fun time. It’s always easy to spot a sister around campus or trendier spots in the city; wearing their letters or not, they are the girls who stand out as the most kind, sensible and all-around fun. These girls continue to improve the chapter and influence the community around them positively.
Alpha Sigma Tau ‘believes in the fulfillment of self and will strive to contribute [our] share to the progress of mankind’ because not only do we uplift ourselves, we enrich others’ lives in the Panhellenic community and the many service projects we work on with Habitat for Humanity, Women’s Wellness Initiative, Relay for Life, the B+ Foundation’s Dance Marathon and several, smaller charities in New York.
We ‘[cultivate] beauty of spirit and graciousness of living with all [our] contacts with others’ because each sister is valued and cared for equally within our chapter. These values are what I strive to maintain as the Delta Phi President. I was chosen by my fellow sisters to represent them and I couldn’t be more thankful to be the face of a sorority that holds such intelligent, driven, and gracious women. I have felt this vibe of empowerment and welcomeness since I joined in Fall of 2014 and I’m looking forward to maintaining these ideals held by my sisters. You’re very lucky if you’re able to meet any of them.
Tau Love & Mine,
Kylie Billings, Delta Phi President
