Hello! We are the Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau. We were brought to New York University in 2004, and have being growing and excelling ever since! This organization is full of amazing, inspirational, and dedicated women. Each and every one of them empower and inspire me to push myself to succeed each and every day.
The women of this organization are involved in countless organizations and positions of leadership across different disciplines on our campus, New York City, and the world. The accomplishments of our sisters span from positions on the NYDM executive board and the position of Welcome Week Chair, to playing on the Basketball team and Softball team, to even producing theater productions. Our sisters have interned at MTV, The New York Philharmonic, the George Institute for Public Health Injury Division in Sydney, Australia, and the National Partnership for Women & Families. Across campus we have sisters working in scientific labs, and sisters who have been published. We have sisters who have been honored having presented their research at the 2018 Society for Neuroscience Conference, and who have been named one of Washington Square News’ Top 10 Influential Students. These women are making an impact on the rest of the NYU community, as well as society as a whole.
Alpha Sigma Tau’s national philanthropy is the Women’s Wellness Initiative, where we get the pleasure of working with organizations such as EndAbuse4Good, BEDA, and NOW. We take pride in our philanthropic efforts and strive to enrich the lives of those around us. We also work with the B+ Foundation, raising money to fight childhood cancer, and to support our B+ hero Mahlai! This past year we raised $50,819 for NYDM and the B+ Foundation for aiding families across the country who are affected by pediatric cancer. Many of our sisters also take the time to volunteer for their own personal philanthropic passions, including, but not limited to, volunteering at the New York Presbyterian Children’s Hospital and the Green Initiative at the NYU Bronfman Center for Jewish Life.
The Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau is a close-knit community of women who truly support, empower, and uplift each other in every way possible. Our sisters find joy in being there for each other and supporting each other’s passions. We all want to help our sisters excel and be the best version of themselves they can be. The values of Alpha Sigma Tau are intellect, excellence, graciousness, respect, and connections. The women of the Delta Phi chapter are reflective of all of these traits in everything that they do. I am honored to hold the position of President, and am thankful for the friends and opportunities this organization has given me. In this position I will work to dedicate my time and efforts to benefiting my sisters and continuing the work this chapter does in influencing and impacting the community around us. I hope our website helps you to see how amazing our sisterhood truly is!
Tau Love & Mine,
Natalie Cuoccio, Delta Phi President
