Hello and welcome to the website of the Delta Phi Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau here at NYU! I am so honored to introduce you to my sisters, who are some of my best friends, strongest supporters, and biggest inspirations. This organization has introduced me to so many incredible women and I hope that this website gives you some insight into the amazing things they do.
The vision of Alpha Sigma Tau is to “empower women to excel in life”, and the Delta Phi Chapter embodies that sentiment. The women of this organization continue to amaze and inspire me with their passion and excellence. Our sisters have interned at the U.S. Senate, Saturday Night Live, and the Museum of Natural History, among other incredible institutions. They are leaders on campus creating space for social change, working in labs, and running amazing programming for students on behalf of our university. Their involvement in over seventy clubs and sports teams, including Model UN, ROTC, and STEBA, leaves a lasting impact on campus. These women truly excel in all aspects of life here at NYU and across our greater community in New York City and beyond.
Our creed states that we “believe in the fulfillment of self and will strive to contribute [our] share to the progress of mankind”. Our sisters are committed to enriching the lives of those around them through meaningful community service. Alpha Sigma Tau is committed to the Women’s Wellness Initiative working with organizations like BEDA, EndAbuse4Good, and NOW. Our sisters are also dedicated to working alongside The B+ Foundation to support our adorable Hero Mahlai and help fight childhood cancer.
We are a community of women who truly uplift and support each other in every capacity. Whether it be attending each others performances, tutoring each other, or just bringing over ice cream during a hard day, the women in Alpha Tau “believe in the values of friendship”.
We are truly an organization built on the values of intellect, excellence, graciousness, respect, and connections. As the Delta Phi President I strive to uphold these values, which I was introduced to when I joined Alpha Sigma Tau in the Fall of 2016. I was elected by my sisters to represent them and I could not be more thankful to be the face of a sorority made up of such inspiring women. I hope you all get the privilege of meeting them!
Tau Love & Mine,
Hunter Zwack, Delta Phi President
